Pears (Nashpati) FROM INDIA

The high-altitude orchards of Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir yield excellent quality pears ranging from the soft, buttery European types (like Bartlett) to the crisp, crunchy Asian varieties. Known locally as Nashpati or Babughusha, our pears are hand-harvested at precise firmness levels to guarantee a long shelf life during transit, maturing to perfect sweetness.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The primary export season for Indian pears, sourced from the temperate orchards of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, runs from July to September. During this time, the fruit achieves its best crunch, juice content, and flavor profile.
Pears are pre-cooled immediately after harvest and shipped in reefer containers at a strict temperature of 0-1°C with 90% relative humidity. This 'storage' temperature ensures they remain crisp and do not ripen prematurely during the sea voyage.
We export premium varieties such as 'Patharnakh' (known for its extreme crispness and long shelf life) and 'Babugosha' (a semi-soft, aromatic variety). These are highly sought after in Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets.
Pears are packed in 10kg or 15kg telescopic corrugated fiberboard boxes with tray inserts to prevent movement. Under a consistent cold chain at 0°C, Indian pears have an impressive export shelf life of 30 to 45 days.
